ELIGIBILITY

AGE LIMIT

  1. There is no age limit for appearing in JEE MAIN examination

YEAR OF APPEARANCE IN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

  1. Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2021 or 2022.
  2. Or Those candidates who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2023.
  3. Candidates who appeared in the Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020, did not pass in 2020, but passed in 2021 are not eligible.

SUBJECTS IN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

  1. Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in the Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination to be eligible.
  2. For B.E./B Tech. course, candidates must have passed Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
  3. For B.Arch./B.Planning. course, candidates must have passed Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

PROCEDURE

  1. The aspiring candidate should furnish all the details and choose a password while filling up the Online Application. After successful submission of the data, an Application number will be generated which will be used for subsequent logins.
  2. Once the candidate has registered, he/she is required to upload scanned images of his/her photograph and signature.
  3. The candidate is then required to pay the Examination Fee which can be done by Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking/ UPI/ Paytm.
  4. Once the payment is done, an Acknowledgement Page will be generated. Candidates are advised to save it for future reference.

NOTE

  1. The scanned photograph should be colour or b/w with 80% face visible (without mask) including ears against a white background in JPG/JPEG format.
  2. The entire application process is online, thus the candidates are not required to send any document to NTA.

APPLICATION CORRECTION

  1. Candidates are advised to exercise the utmost care in filling up the Application Form since no corrections will be permitted once the Application Form is submitted.
  2. Any request for change in the particulars and uploaded scanned images at any stage will not be considered by NTA under any circumstances.
  3. NTA will not entertain any corrections sent by the candidate through Post/ Fax/ WhatsApp/ E-mail/ by Hand.

SLOT BOOKING

  1. The candidates will not get the option of choosing a specific date/session to appear for the JEE Main entrance examination.
  2. The allotment of Centre, Date, and Shift will be randomly done through computer software by NTA, after the closure of the Application Form.

NOTE

  1. While filling the Application form, candidates have to select any four cities of their choice. The efforts will be made to allot city of examination to the candidates in order of the choice opted by them in their application form.
  2. Please note that due to administrative reasons, a different city in a nearby area may be allotted.
  3. The choice of Centre Cities will be limited to the State of Permanent Address or State of Present Address only.

ADMIT CARD

  1. Admit Cards of the JEE (Main) exam will be available as per the notified schedule.
  2. A printed copy of the downloaded admit card should be produced at the time of examination.
  3. In case of any discrepancy in the e-Admit Card including candidate details, photograph, signature, the candidate may immediately approach the NTA Helpline.

CANDIDATE RESPONSES

  1. The responses of the candidates recorded during the exam, will be available for them to view, download and print from the JEE (Main) website.
  2. Candidates can access the copy of candidate’s responses as per schedule.

ANSWER KEYS

  1. The answer keys of Computer based examination will be made available on the JEE (Main) website as per schedule.
  2. The candidates who aren’t satisfied with any answer can challenge the answer keys online before the deadline on non-refundable online payment of Rs.200 per question.
  3. If a question for any reason is found to be wrong, the benefit of marks will be given to all the appeared candidates for MCQ questions, and only to those candidates who attempted the question for Numerical type questions.
  4. The processing fee will be non-refundable.

RE-CHECKING

  1. There is no provision for revaluation or rechecking of the result.

SCORE / RESULT

  1. The score of the JEE (Main) exam will be available as per the notified schedule.
  2. This score shall comprise of the Raw Scores i.e. the actual marks scored and Percentile Scores (NTA Scores) i.e. the scores based on the relative performance of all those who appear for the examination in that session.
  3. Each of the exam results shall comprise four NTA scores, one for each of the three subjects (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) and the total for the respective attempt.
  4. The final rank list will be released after the declaration of results for all the sessions. The four NTA scores for each of the candidates for the first attempt as well as for the other attempts will be merged for the compilation of results and preparation of the overall Merit List / Ranking.
  5. The best of the candidate’s NTA scores will be considered for candidates who appeared in multiple attempts.
  6. The All India Rank shall be compiled and declared after conduct of the final session of JEE (Main) 2023 Examination.
  7. EE (Main) result will also decide whether the candidate has qualified for appearing in JEE (Advanced). JEE (Advanced) eligibility criteria can be checked here.
  8. No score/rank card will be dispatched to the candidates and the candidates are advised to download their score/rank cards from the JEE (Main) website.

ADMISSION TO NITS, IIITS AND CFTIS

  1. Admission to NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards passed the 12th class examination.
  2. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% pass in the 12th class examination.
  3. The JEE (Main) 2023 Counselling will be done online by JoSAA and CSAB in different rounds. To appear in the counselling, candidates will have to register themselves and fill in their preferences of colleges and courses. The seat allocation will be done based on the filled choices, rank, category, and seat availability.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Materials to be brought on the day of examination:

  1. Admit card (along with Self Declaration Undertaking)
  2. One passport size photograph (same as uploaded in Online Application Form)
  3. Identity Proof
  4. Ball Point Pen
  5. PWD certificate issued by the Competent Authority, if claiming the relaxation under PwD category
  6. For Paper-2 Drawing Test: Geometry box set, pencils, erasers, and colour pencils or crayons.

Rough Work:

  1. All calculations/writing work is to be done only in the rough sheet provided at the centre in the Examination Room/Hall.
  2. Candidates must hand over the rough sheets to the invigilator on duty in the Room/Hall after completion of the test.
